Miele KFN 12924 SD (-1)

I have had this appliance for 3½ years now. Apart from when it just stopped altogether (the kitchen became unbearably hot due to a central heating problem) it has been excellent and performed very well.

Yesterday morning, when I went into the kitchen I heard the triple beep alarm. Thinking I had left the door open, I checked that both doors were secure. The frozen food had begun to thaw so the problem had been going for a few hours, I assumed. I reset the freezer and put on super freeze in order that my food was refrozen asap. (It had not thawed enough to be dangerous to eat).

When I went in this morning the beeper was going again. The food was not too bad - maybe slight thawing. I reset the freezer again - 2 hours ago - but although the beeper is not going the red light is still flashing.

It seems rather odd that this should happen. The FF has not cut out. I imagine it is continuing to chill now to get down to temperature.

Does anyone have any idea or experience of why this should've happened?

Thank you
